The Toyota Aygo Crazy is a one-off concept car developed by Toyota UK and unveiled in 2008 to showcase the extreme performance potential of the Aygo platform. Built by Toyota’s motorsport and engineering partners, the project transformed the compact city car into a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive machine inspired by rally and track cars.
Power comes from a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine sourced from the Toyota MR2, producing approximately 200 hp. Mounted behind the front seats, the engine is paired with a rear-wheel-drive layout and a lightweight chassis, allowing the Aygo Crazy to accelerate from 0 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 5.7 seconds. The car also features a wide-body design, bespoke suspension, upgraded brakes, and a stripped-out interior with racing seats and a roll cage.
Never intended for production, the Aygo Crazy remains a unique Toyota concept and one of the most radical interpretations of a modern city car, combining compact dimensions with genuine sports car performance.
