Information
This chassis was showcased at the 14th Tokyo Motor Show in 1967, alongside Chassis MF10-10130 with supermodel Twiggy. This 2000GT was sent back to Yamaha as a special thank-you gift, as they were involved on developing the 3.0 inline-six engine.
The car was later acquired by Mr. Yoshio Dobashi, and has kept this car in mint condition for several years. It was then resold back to Yamaha, as it was in a search for an original 2000GT onto its museum collection. Throughout the ownership, the car logged at around 56,000 km.
After this chassis was thoroughly inspected by Yamaha, it went for a full restoration in which took a year to complete. The car was skilfully restored by Mr. Fujita of the 2000GT specialist Two Seater garage, with the engine being sent to Toyota for an overhaul.
It is now proudly displayed at the Yamaha Communication Plaza, alongside the Lexus LFA and two Yamaha OX99-11 prototypes.
