Information
The Nissank was built for Top gear episode 2 of season 10. The producers instructed the presenters to drive vehicles across the channel of water between England and France. The Nissank was Jeremy Clarkson's car to get across the water, a modified Nissan D21.
James May and Richard Hammond both saw their own amphibious vehicles fail and sink into the sea. Left with no other option, they had to climb aboard Clarkson's surviving Nissank. The three presenters managed to cross the English Channel together on this makeshift floating pick-up truck.
When they finally washed ashore on the beach in Sangatte, France, they were quickly intercepted by the local French police, primarily because the trio had completely forgotten to bring their passports. The entire premise of this crazy adventure was an attempt to beat the amphibious channel-crossing record that had been previously established by Richard Branson.
