Information
F40 LM Barchetta 'Beurlys' built for Jean 'Beurlys' Blaton on chassis provided by Thiebaut Racing.
Rumored to be F40 LM VIN: ZFFGJ34B000079890 transformed by Michelotto and Tony Gillet into a Barchetta - previously also owned by Jean Blaton, but this car apparently still exists and resides in France.
All prancing horse logos had to be removed, due to Ferrari not acknowledging this car to be a true Ferrari.
Presumably the car was commissioned by Jean Blaton and was built by an Italian-Swiss team under the supervision of Argentinian-born engineer, Mario Navarete and former technicians from the Coloni F1 team. The powertrain came from a wrecked F40 but in this configuration produces 650-horsepower.
Push-rod actuated coilover system similar to more modern Ferrari’s like the Enzo and FXX. The exhaust system was also modified and re-routed, they now exited before the rear wheels. A full steel roll cage along was installed for safety reasons and to provide more rigidity, as well as a lexan windshield to offer some driver protection. Painted yellow, which is the official historic racing colour for Belgium.
