Previously featured in S2 E7 of the HBO TV series 'Ballers' in 2016.
In 2021, the car was to be auctioned off to pay for debts Spania had incurred. The founder, Domingo Ochoa, managed to convince one of his prospects to purchase the car which led to the car's withdrawal from RM Sotheby's Paris auction. Spania maintained possession of the car.
In March of 2022, the car appeared on AlertaSubastas and was to be auctioned off due to unpaid social securities debts. The car was withdrawn from auction and the factory managed to maintain ownership of the car.
