Information
Originally used in the ABC crime drama series 'Honey West', starring Anne Francis in the title role. After filming, it was invoiced to El Segundo dealer Hi-Performance Motors and sold for $3,900 to Los Angeles radio station KDAY (now KBLA). They offered it as First Prize in their 'Cash Cobra Contest', in which they would drive around Los Angeles with the Cobra on a flatbed truck and would toss a handful of pennies into a counter mounted above the car on a daily basis. Radio listeners were asked to send in postcards and guess how many pennies were in the truck. The contest winner was 15-year-old Mary Champie Doss from Los Angeles, who turned 16 just five days after winning the Cobra. Therefore, she enjoyed two years of spirited driving before an ever-growing pile of speeding tickets enraged her father, who demanded she sold it.Used in the TV series 'Honey West'
