Information
Marking the third year that he would drive for the Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning race team, Patrick Long, along with Jörg Bergmeister, drove this 2005 Porsche 996 GT3 RSR during the last seven races of the 2006 American Le Mans Series. The car, the last 996 GT3 RSR ever built, was prepared in just 13 days to the same specifications and livery of a prior car that had been damaged. Throughout the 2006 season, it would achieve three class victories and six podium finishes as well as finishing second in the ALMS 2006 season championship. Long and Bergmeister were a formidable team, with Long calling the German co-driver one of his favorite teammates of his career.
Used in a Road & Track article featuring this RSR driven by Patrick Long against a Carrera GT.
