Information
This car was built in September 1972 using wrecked chassis parts from a previous 2.5L ST car.
The previous story of this chassis is available in this section:
https://exclusivecarregistry.com/details/porsche/911/35213
The Porsche KG Sports department transformed the wrecked chassis and changed the VIN number to match the upcoming model year (1973 MY). This marked the beginning of its 'second life.'
From 1974, it left the factory and passed through the hands of British drivers and collectors, regularly competing in rallies with notable results, including several podium finishes and a victory in the 1976 Omagh Rally. Over time, the car traveled between England and the United States, even becoming part of the Blackhawk Collection in California.
In 2013, it returned to Europe. It was then that it received the Martini livery, a decoration inspired by that of a 911 that participated in the 1973 Targa Florio. It should be noted, however, that it never participated. Remaining at the factory in 2.7 RS configuration, it was never transformed into a true 2.8 RSR competition car.
