Information
Winner of 1976 Austrian Grand Prix
After Roger Penske decided to withdrawn for 1977 season to focus on USAC, he sold the cars to ATS, who raced them in 1977. During the 1977 German Grand Prix, held on July 31st, the local driver Hans Hayer wanted to participate, but he couldn't pass the Pre Qualifying (DNQ), but he was friend with track marshalls so he managed to join the race. On Lap 9 the other Penske PC4 (002) of Jean-Pierre Jarier retired from the race, and the marshalls saw there was another ATS entry and after seen Hayer joined ilegally the race he was DSQ, but on Lap 11 he retired due a mechanical failure. Due this was the only entry for Hans Hayer, he has the curious record of being the only driver to DNQ, DNF and DSQ on the same race.
