Information
The Nissan GTP ZX-T from the 1986 and 1987 seasons was built on a Lola T810 chassis, purchased by Nissan from the British manufacturer Lola Cars. This strategic choice allowed Nissan, in partnership with Electramotive Engineering, to enter the IMSA GTP series quickly while focusing on the future development of its own race car. The proven Lola chassis served as a temporary platform to integrate and test Nissan’s turbocharged V6 engine. Two cars were made. This transitional solution gave the team valuable racing experience before launching a fully in-house developed car starting in 1988.
