Information
The chassis 09‑0001 was the first GT1-spec Nissan GT‑R (R35) built by NISMO in partnership with Gigawave Motorsport, introduced in 2009
Powered by a naturally‑aspirated VK56DE V8 (5.5 L, ~600 hp / 650 Nm) driving the rear wheels via a Ricardo six‑speed sequential transaxle, it weighed about 1,250 kg and featured carbon‑fiber brakes with 6‑piston calipers front and rear
The car debuted in pre‑season testing at Paul Ricard, completing over 119 laps, before making its competitive debut at Silverstone in May 2009. Despite a promising pace, it suffered mechanical setbacks, including a DNF due to rear suspension issues. It also raced at Oschersleben (14th), competed in the Spa 24 Hours where it ran as high as fourth overall, but was delayed by drivetrain problems before finishing 13th in class. In the final round at Zolder, brake trouble hampered its performance, even though it was more competitive than before
