Owned by the Bulgarian state since new and formerly used by socialist leader Todor Zhivkov.
The 'Grosser' Mercedes was used to drive famous personas and politicians around the country during visits. It served its purpose faithfully for 22 years.
When the democrats overthrew the government and Zhivkov stepped down from office, the Mercedes went into the hands of NSS (the National State Services). The car enthusiasts in the department have been looking after the car with personal funds in the 35 years since. It has mainly been displayed during car exhibitions as a part of the Bulgarian socialist cultural patrimony.
The only Landaulet in existence not to be equipped with AC.
