Information
Originally painted white over a red leather interior. The car was stolen in May of 1983 and reappeared in 1992 with a newly painted body in fantasy yellow and has been illegally restamped to 10-002786. The differential, the transmission as well as the steering and the front axle identification numbers in the register also matched the original. This was done to mimic the identity of the 300 SL from the Geneva Salon, final number 2786 which was hiding in a barn in Switzerland.
However the car was purchased in 2017 at 1,075,000 Euros and was sold in 2020 for 600,000 Euros to Klaus Kienle because it was 'deemed a replica' and 8 months later was sold again to the Sultan of Johor. The car was also never sold at 1.3 million Euro in 2019.
