At 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg was overtaking Narain Karthikeyan's HRT during his recovery form an early pit. The HRT had a hydraulics failure so it couldn't turn normally, Rosberg was unaware of that and took the normal overtaking line. However Karthikeyan's car suddenly slowed done due to the failure. Rosberg rear ended Karthikeyan at a high speed, the Mercedes took off, landed and slid across the run-off area and hit the barrier heavily. Both drivers were unharmed, but the W03 chassis was never used again, presumably written off.
