The only MP4/4 chassis to never get a Grand Prix victory.
Primarly used for testing.
During the 1988 Brazilian Grand Prix, Ayrton Senna used the MP4/4-1 chassis, but after got stalled on race start, Senna opted to use this chassis. Due the chassis change was iilegal, Senna was disqualified from the race.
