Information
At 1995 Australian Grand Prix qualifying, Mika Häkkinen had a puncture, which caused him to lose control, went airborne and hit the wall at 120 mph. His helmet hit the steering wheel and his skull was fractured, also his airway was blocked, which made him unconscious. Luckily there were doctors right at the corner, they rescued Häkkinen and performed tracheotomy to form an airway. Later he was transformed to Royal Adelaide Hospital where he was taken care and recovered. To express his gratefulness and help the hospital, Häkkinen donated a huge amount of money to built a helipad for the hospital in 1997.
