Information
McLaren M25 is a Formula 5000 car built in 1973, but it didn't race until 1976 when it was too late for it to be competitive. Later it was acquired by Spanish Emilio de Villota as a back up car for his M23 F1 car. The M25 was rebuilt into F1 specifications and actually took part in a F1 Grand Prix in 1978 at Jarama, but it failed to qualify. It also raced in British F1 Championship, and took 3rd in 1978 season. Later oy was used as a showcar and historic race car. It was converted back to F5000 specifications for historic racing in 2000s, and later returned to F1 specifications in modern years.
