Information
Delivered in Magnesium Silver with Chrome wheels, one of 3 original High mirror cars.
Car was repainted by the second owner, in a shade of blue close to the colour from the Smurfs franchise in the mid-2000s. The rims were also repainted to matte black.
Previously on BBS E88 wheels, when the car was Smurf Blue.
Crashed on the A48 in Germany on 30th July 2010.
Repainted from Smurf Blue to a Bugatti Blue, known as 'Blu Alfa' during the rebuild.
The rebuild also included HDK style wheels, an aftermarket steering wheel from a Porsche 993 GT2 was retrofitted, artwork on the bonnet, and black leather upholstery with a blue leather seat insert on the driver's seat.
McLaren statement at the time ' The car has covered around XXXXX miles, and it has recently been rebuilt and repainted to full McLaren standards by McLaren after a minor road traffic accident. The repair included a new bumper, top shell, bonnet headlight and HVAC ancillaries. The crash box was only dented but we replaced it as a precaution.'
Restored back to original specification by MSO from an unknown date to 2024.
The artwork on the bonnet was removed before the restoration.
During the restoration, the steering wheel and seat inserts converted back to stock, rims were repainted to silver, but the 'Blu Alfa' paint remained.
Has a chipped engine, which is unique among other F1's.
Currently at Lanzante to be returned to Silver & chrome wheel spec.
