Information
On April 16th 1969, Matra Sports organized a private test with the Matra MS640 after they couldn't prepare the car on time for Le Mans test on March 1969, which lead Matra to use the MS630 instead. Henri Pescarolo pushed the car up to 250 km/h. The MS640 flew like an airplane, hitting on the sideway. There was smoke which lead the team to run into the scene. Pescarolo spent 6 months on convalescence, recovering from burns. In 1989, the original parts were found at Matra factory, while in 1995, Norma built a second frame and used the parts found which lead to a reconstruction of the MS640, which is badged as MS640-02.
