Test car, never raced.
During the first test of season 2012 at Jerez, Lotus used their first E20 chassis. Romain Grosjean reported the chassis had a problem, so Lotus sent this chassis back to their factory for modification, and sent the second chassis, which is this one, to Barcelona for the second test. However, Grosjean found out that chassis 02 had the same problem at Barcelona. Instead of taking chassis 01 back to circuit, Lotus chose to withdraw from the test to figure out the problem. According to the team, chassis 02 was damaged during the test.
