Information
This chassis was built back in 1980 as the last chassis of Lotus 81. But before the whole car could be finished, Lotus turned to develop the 87 with carbon fibre monocoque, so the 81 with aluminum monocoque was given up, and this chassis was never built into a whole car. It was locked in Lotus' storage and forgotten. In 2020 during the pandemic, Classic Team Lotus began to rebuild this car with original parts. It is race ready and with zero milage 1980 F1 car reborn 40 years later.
