The most succesfull chassis with 5 wins (1977 United States Grand Prix West, 1977 Spanish Grand Prix, 1977 French Grand Prix, 1977 Italian Grand Prix and 1978 Argentinian Grand Prix).
On Italian Grand Prix, held on September 10th 1978. Ronnie Peterson was involved in a heavy crash on race start, where he crashed the barriers and car burnt up in flames. He was rescued from the car but passed away on the hospital on September 11th 1978.
