Information
The most famous of the five Lola T500S, the car Al Unser drove to victory in the 1978 Indianapolis 500, and the backbone of his USAC Triple Crown that year. Fielded by Chaparral and finished in the blue-and-yellow First National City livery, it showcased Lola’s return to Indy success with a potent Cosworth DFX and clean, ground-effects-influenced design. Though damaged and rebuilt during the season, HU2 remained the team’s primary chassis and later became a staple at historic events.
