Information
During the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix, held on October 21st. Aguri Suzuki arrived to his home race driving for Larrousse. He tried a risky strategy of not pitting for tyres. After a chaotic race in Suzuka he finished in 3rd place. This was the first (and only podium) for Aguri Suzuki and Larrousse, as well the first podium finish for a Japanese driver. Alongside the Benettons 1-2 (Piquet and Moreno) the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix podium is (up to date) the last podium without a single european driver.
