At 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, Érik Comas had an accident and returned to pit for reparation. During his stay in pit box, Senna had his fatal crash. But Larrousse crew wasn't aware of that due to a radio miscommunication and released Comas to the track under red flag. Comas ran full speed towards Tamburello and all the marshals, vehicles and the helicopter there. He braked hard after seeing what was happening there, barely avoided another crash. Coma was deeply shocked by the scene, especially Senna was his saviour two years ago at Spa, rescuing him from a terrible accident. Realizing Senna's fate, Coma returned to pit and withdrew from the race. He kept this secret for 10 years.
