Information
The chassis number of this car was originally used in a car built to replace the crashed chassis 4956. In 1973, the resulting car was re-numbered 4956, leaving this chassis number free for use.
Therefore, the Lamborghini factory built a new P400 SV using this chassis number and some parts recovered from the wreck of chassis 4956. This car was rebuilt for Swiss-domiciled Canadian businessman Walter Wolf as a gift for his wife (it was Wolf’s third Miura). It was painted Oro Metallizzatto over a Nero Leather interior and fitted with Wolf's trademark 'F1-style' steering wheel. The car was registered in the canton of Ticino with the plates 'TI 45100'.
Following its rebuild, the car was given a second factory dispatch date: April 17th 1975. This made it the last ‘new’ SV to leave Automobili Lamborghini.
On one occasion, Barbara Wolf was travelling at high speed along an Autobahn when the rear body section blew clean off. Lamborghini supplied a brand new rear clam at a cost of $5000.
Barbara retained the car when she and Walter divorced later in the 1970s.
Later, the car passed through several private Swiss and Italian owners until Lamborghini purchased it in 1999 for their museum. It was subsequently restored to Giallo over Nero.
