Information

One of a pair of new K8s built by Kremer racing for the 1995 season, this car was entered by the factory team in that year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. Raced by Thierry Boutsen, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Christophe Bouchut, it finished sixth overall after starting fifth on the grid. Raced sporadically afterwards, the car returned to Le Mans in 1996 where it boasted STP colours but failed to reach the finish due to accident damage. Now in Repsol colours, this chassis made its third Le Mans appearance in 1997 but again with no notable result. In 1998, it did reach the finish finishing twelfth overall and second in class. It represented the end of an era as this was the final success for a Porsche 956/962 based design. Raced through to the 1999 season, this Porsche-engined machine eventually ended up in North America. Here it was restored by specialists Canepa to the Repsol livery used in 1996. In more recent years, it was acquired by a German collector, who eventually re-finished it in the Motul colours it wore during its 1995 Le Mans debut.
