Information
Ordered new by Mitch Mitchell, drummer for ‘The Hendrix Experience’.
Originally finished Metallic Purple, thought to be an homage to the hit song 'Purple Haze'
Involved in an accident in early April of 1970, damaging the front end of the vehicle, requiring it to be repaired by the Jensen factory.
Involved in a second, much more serious accident in November of 1970 in the village of Stonegate. Whilst travelling at a high rate of speed with his girlfriend and child in the car, Mitchell flipped the vehicle after hitting a large heap of loose tarmac on the side of a left-hand bend. No-one was injured.
After the second crash, the car was repaired at an estimated cost of £2,594.44, plus an additional £112.00 for the fitting of a Webasto sunroof into the new roof panel. At Mitchell's request, the car was resprayed in Jensen Tangerine during the process.
