Information
One-off XK140 bodied by Boano from an existing chassis and designed by Raymond Loewy. Debuted at the 1955 Paris Motor Show to little interest.
Loewy was looking to make a body with an unbroken line from the front of the hood to the rear of the car and also adopt Virgil Exner's 'dart' theme. This project was initially tied to a Ferrari and done in secrecy but once Enzo Ferrari heard about it, he decided to part ways with the French designer.
He continued with it as an in-house project, now instead using an XK140 as base since it had almost the same wheelbase and track as the previous Ferrari, albeit a little shorter and the engine was higher up.
The front was problematic to fit the bumper and headlights on and the car was somewhat ugly as well. The Paris Motor Show didn't go to well either so Loewy kept the car and later shipped it to New York City before selling it to Archie Moore in 1957.
The car would be destroyed in a fire later that year, unfortunately.
