Information
The story that's mostly accepted about this car's existence is that Monsieur Malpelli of Lyon requested for this Jaguar and another XK120 to get the Supersonic treatment at Ghia in Turin, so the dealer Delecroix, who first recieved the cars, sent them there and this one also got its engine tuned by Virgilio Conrero.
Malpelli got chassis 679768 (this one) and the other car, displayed it at the Paris and London motor car shows in 1954 and some French concours of elegance before Delecroix took the car back because he never paid the bill.
The XK120 changed hands a few more times, it was featured in a magazine together with the Fiat 8V Supersonic lookalike and it was last seen at Salon Privé Blenheim 2024 where it competed in Class F2: Post-war closed (British) and won!
