Information
After its long testing career, the fate of XKD505 was unclear. When Peter Sutcliffe's crashed D-type (XKD504) returned to the works for repair, it is believed that the chassis was swapped. Decades later, the chassis was removed from XKD504 and recreated into a 'new' XKD505.
Although this story is unconfirmed, the car was recreated using a new monocoque and running gear.
