Information
Honda RC-F1 1.5X
In 1980s to 1990s, Honda encouraged their staff to do innovative projects, Honda funded these projects but provided no technology support. The engineers from Honda's road car department designed a series of 3 F1 prototypes all by themselves in their spare time. Honda hadn't been building F1 chassis since 1960s. This is the second of the prototype series, it's built for 1993 regulations. The previous prototype RC100 was destroyed in the crash test for this car. The RC101 has designs derived from Lotus 107 and Footwork FA13, which are Honda powered cars, it was also upgraded with elements from Williams cars.
