Information
Frua-bodied Citroen SM thought to originate from proposals of a front-wheel-drive Maserati sports car. Looks very similar to the Maserati Khamsin but that car went for a Maserati V8 while the mid-engined Merak got a V6. The chassis is a shortened DS one. First unveiled at the 1972 Geneva Motor Show, it was shown there again the following year, later being sold in Spain until the late 80s, after which it was sold to Italy and partially restored during 2011/2012. It was not sold at the Bonhams 2012 Monaco auction but later found its way in France given its numerous apparitions ar car events in the country.
