Information
Originally a BA Falcon prototype used for hot-weather testing in rural Australia. The prototype was involved in an accident with a kangaroo, which damaged the front passenger side of the car.
The vehicle was stored with Ford Australia until 2006 when it was donated to the FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) division to turn it into a drift car. It was updated to resemble the then-current high-performance F6 Typhoon model and modified with sponsored and donated aftermarket parts.
In 2012, Prodrive sold their share of FPV to Ford Australia. However, DRIF6 was retained by them and brought over to the UK.
Originally, DRIF6 produced a claimed 510hp, up from the 362hp of the F6 Typhoon road car. Under current ownership, the car has been restored and updated with modern parts and now produces 603hp.
DRIF6 features a plaque in the engine bay stating to 'Dispose of only by crushing the complete vehicle at a scrap metal dealer', making its current existence somewhat of a miracle.
