Information
The Ford Prodigy concept was Ford’s early-2000s showcase for an ultra-efficient, practical family car. Built for the government-backed PNGV program, it aimed for around 80 mpg using a lightweight aluminium body, super-slippery aerodynamics, and a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain. Rather than being a wild show car, it was meant to prove that extreme fuel efficiency could coexist with normal-car space, comfort, and usability — essentially a realistic bridge toward future production hybrids.
