Mainly used as spare car.
Enzo Ferrari passed away on August 14th 1988. During the 1988 Italian Grand Prix, held on September 11th marked the first home race for Scuderia Ferrari. McLaren was on a dominant run by Senna until he crashed trying to lap Jean Louis Schlesser on lap 51/53. Gerhard Berger, who was in 2nd place took the lead of the race to eventually take victory with a 1-2. The victory was dedicated to Enzo Ferrari.
