Winner of the 1976 Monaco and Belgian Grand Prix
Before the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix, Niki Lauda still led the Championship by three points, despite having missed two races after his horrifying crash at the Nürburgring. In Fuji's heavy rains, Lauda withdrew from the race due to safety concerns. But James Hunt continued the race to finish P3, winning the title by one point. Lauda's act, costing him and Ferrari a WDC, worsened the relationship between them. Although he won another title in 1977, Lauda still felt isolated and left the team.
Class R-3 Winner at Pebble Beach 2025.
