Original 308 GTB Group 4 Michelotto - converted to IMSA GTU race car, and in the late 1980s to SCCA GT2 race specification.The car was originally sold to Allen Glick and William Syphers, of Cobra Racing, CA/USA and modified into an IMSA GTU race car. They entered the car in March of 1984 for the Sebring 12 hours to be driven by Glick and Syphers, race #08, The car was next entered and raced at the 1984 Riverside 6 hours by Glick-Syphers, race #08, and placed 44th. Next race was May 6, 1984 in GT race at Laguna Seca to be driven by Glick-Syphers with race #08 but DNS. The pairs’ final race with the car was July 8, 1984 where they raced at the Watkins Glen 6 hours with race #08, placing 30th. At the beginning of 1985 the car was sold by Syphers Racing to Warren Mosler. He immediately sent the car to George Alderman in Delaware and then to Bob Wallace in Phoenix, AZ/USA. The car was later converted to SCCA GT2 race specifications in the late 1980s and raced throughout the eastern part of the United States.
Car was then sent to Rick Mancuso, at Lake Forest Sports Cars (owner of Ferrari Lake Forest), who ran the car in SCCA Nationals for 20+ years and participated in the SCCA Runoffs in 1997 and 1998 finishing 4th and 9th respectively. For the last 30+ years the car has been under Rick's care and stored and meticulously maintained by Ferrari of Lake Forest. It is preserved in its last Runoffs livery as it came off the track but has just undergone a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic freshening and is race ready.The poster car for Jim Beam Promotions.
