The car was restored by Rob Shanahan in the 1980s before passing through the hands of several dealers and sellers. Then, it made its way to the UK before being sold for $ 354,500 at the Christie’s Pebble Beach auction in 1998. Two years later, RM sold it for $ 350,000 excluding premium.
It first participated to the Tour Auto in 2001. The same year it was involved in an accident during the Tour de Espana but was quickly repaired and participated again to the Tour Auto in 2002. In total, it attended 6 editions including the 2026 one (2001, 2002, 2003, 2022, 2023, 2026).
