Previous owner Efrain Ruiz Echeverria's 212 Europa Vignale Coupe s/n 0239EU was shipped back to Italy after the accident in the 1952 Carrera Panamericana and then traded in for this new 250 MM PF Berlinetta s/n 0352MM, which was restamped 0239EU to get the new car into Mexico without paying duty or having to obtain an import permit.
Today this car's chassis shows both 0352MM and 0239EU being stamped on the chassis.
