'This Chassis has a very special history as it has won 1st IC /2nd OA at Goodwood 1962 3 Days after it was finished. After that it won 1st OA at Scalextric International Trophy on Silverstone, 1st OA at Mallory Park heat 1 and 2, 1st OA at Peco Trophy, 1st OA Daily Mirror 3h Trophy. The Chassis won 7 First places and 12 Podiums overall. After all these accomplishments the Car was donated in 1964 to the Victoria High School in Texas, US who auctioned the off to Joe Kortan in 1970, who rented this car out for $34/day ($242.37 today), but after 2 years it wasn't that profitable anymore and he let it set on a trailer, in a grass field. Between 1972 and 1986 the got hand-painted in a red shade. In 1986 the car was discovered by Frank Gallogy who reportedly bought for 500.000 USD off of Kortan. In 1988 Engelbert Stieger bought it and had it completely restored to its former Glory by Fritz Leirer.' - by @250gto_registry
