Information
This 250 GTE 2+2 was the 1960 Earls Court show car, finished in Grigio Conchiglia from the factory. Original UK-market vehicle, supplied via Maranello Concessionaires and early in its life it was owned by a Dr Ian Howat, who subsequently sold it to Professor John Guillebaud, who owned the car in the late 1960s. He sold it on to a Mr Richard Ryder, who later consigned the car to a Christie's Beaulieu auction in 1973 at 77,500 miles. Online sources suggest it sold for £1200, but an original catalogue with handwritten results notes it sold for £1700 (worth circa £21,000 in 2018 money). In September 2018, original photos from the 1960s were sourced from Professor Guillebaud. At this point, the car was owned by Bob Houghton and appeared in the edition of Enzo magazine published at the same time.
