Information

Rumored to be originally build as 125 S 01C, later in 1947 renumbered and re-bodied as 166 Spyder Corsa (engine was also upgraded to 166 specs) - in the early 2000s recreated back to 125 S spec with original parts (first public debut as 125 S chassis 01C in 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance). Possibly The first Ferrari ever built. In 1947, the 49-year-old Enzo Ferrari established its own Ferrari automobile manufacturing plant in Italy, and produced the first model in Ferrari's history - Ferrari 125 S. Later this year, after a few races the original chassis was renumbered and rebodied as 166 Spyder Corsa chassis 010I and sold to Igor Troubetskoj - French/Russian aristocrat and one of Enzo Ferrari's first customers - upon taking receipt of the car, the new owner discovered that his supposedly new car was in fact used and well-raced. In 1987 Michelotto constructed 01C recreation using numerous original parts. In 166 Spyder Corsa configuration, the car was sold to Symbolic Motors. Close inspection of the chassis and its serial number led to the discovery of an old stamping that could possibly read 01C. It had been covered by an aluminum plate which bore the serial number 010I. Subsequently, the car was sold to its current owner, who refitted the chassis with a body similar to the factory's 125 S replica, which was built by Michelotto in 1987. The alleged 01C made its public debut at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and was entered as a "Ferrari 125 S". It resides currently at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California.Inspiration for Ferrari 70th Anniversary Edition Livery Number #1 - "The Icon"
