Elfin 400 Traco-Oldsmobile.
The second numbered chassis but the first car to be built, after the completion of chassis 1 was put on hold to finish this car for the owners.
Original Traco-Olds engine blown under second ownership and replaced with a 5 litre Chevrolet V8 and ZF 5DS-25 gearbox.
Fitted with a new body under third ownership and raced as the 'R&T Chev', after the owner's company 'Road and Track Automotive Services'.
Shunted from the rear and crashed heavily under fourth ownership at Amaroo park on May 29, 1977. The car was sold and the rear of the chassis cut away to fit a Leyland P76 V8 and Hewland F1 FGA gearbox.
Restoration began in 1990 under the current ownership. The car was fitted with a 5 litre Chevrolet V8 and Hewland DG300 gearbox.
