This car is one of 2 2017 Dodge Viper ACR GTS-R Commemorative editions that made several attempts to break the American production car lap record at the Nürburgring in the summer of 2017. The entire project was crowdfunded, and culminated in this particular car setting a record of 7:01.3 on its final attempt in September of 2017. Soon after the record was set, this car had a tire blow at 160 MPH, sending it into the barrier and ending the effort.
