This prototype looked almost identical to a standard 2CV AZLP. Only the larger wheels and the modified, slightly open rear boot lid gave any indication that this was a very different machine.
By unveiling this prototype, Citroën signaled its interest in supporting oil exploration in the Sahara, which at the time was still a French territory.
