Type 53 Grand Prix with replica 53002 body by Bats
Jean de Dobbeleer bought several unused parts from the Works : a 53 chassis with a 50S engine. In addition he bought a collection of 53 parts straight from the factory stock in 1960. He assembled the parts, and commissioned the coachbuilder Jean Bats to build a body resembling the original car. He also got a chassis plate stamped #53002 (No connection with the original chassis #53002, hence the -R mention on its ECR chassis number).
