This original, right-hand drive BMW 3.0 CSL was purchased by the present owner in 2009. The car had been standing in a lockup garage for the preceding six years having been purchased as a restoration project by the previous owner, who never got around to starting it. 'TLM 40M' had been partially restored in 1989 when the engine had been fully rebuilt; only 2000 miles have been covered since then. The present owner had the car stripped down and soda-blasted; the two front wings were replaced, any corroded metal removed, and the body repaired. All mechanical components were either replaced or reconditioned, and a new interior and new dashboard installed. Over £50,000 has been spent on the restoration.
