Information
The 'Baby Cresta'
In 1947, Bentley unveiled at the Paris Salon the Mark VI Cresta, designed bespoke to only 16 units by Pininfarina.
The Cresta II, built in 1951, was a project by Facel-Métallon, owned by Jean Daninos, a French metal stamping and car body maker. He had dreamt of producing his own cars in the form of his own car company. To showcase the company's capabilities, Jean designed the Cresta II and displayed it at several auto shows, in various colours, to give the impression that several cars were being built.
Jean was able to use the car, which had proven with a huge success with a lot of interest, to launch his own manufacturer 'Facel Vega', which proved to be a favourite of the elites, with sporty and comfortable luxury 2-door coupes powered by American Hemi V8's
