Information
Bentley 3 Litre Torpedo Sport
Built in 1922, this car was completed by Park Ward with an aluminium four-seater Tourer body. A year later, it was entered in the very first 24 Hours of Le Mans for later winners John Duff and Frank Clement. The only Bentley in the field, this 3 Litre placed fourth behind three French cars. A Bentley love affair with the great endurance had started, and the 3 Litre would take two outright wins, and by the turn of the decade, Bentley's tally read five Le Mans victories. Chassis 141 would go on to serve as a daily driver for some years to come.
